Many people who seek counseling have normal challenges of life that sometimes can become overwhelming. Counseling is a unique relationship that involves a professional with specialized training who assists you in identifying your personal and professional goals and helps you outline the most meaningful ways of achieving them. The length of counseling depends on the client and the magnitude of the challenges that they are facing. Each individual session is 50 minutes. Counseling can occur weekly, bi-weekly, or even monthly depending on the issues. Depression/Anxiety
Pre-marital and Couples Counseling
Relationships can be complicated. The levels of stress for couples today are far greater than the levels of stress for previous generations. Over time, needs and resources of each partner evolve. Pre-marital and Couples counseling provides an opportunity for couples to identify potential or current stressors that occur in most relationships and find meaningful ways of resolving conflicts effectively. Some benefits of couples counseling include: Improving communication and listening skills
Group Sessions
Research indicates that groups can be just as effective, and in some cases, more effective than individual counseling, particularly when the issues involve relationships with others. Groups allow for individuals with similar challenges to cultivate trust and work together for mutual benefit. Individual group members experience support, understanding, and encouragement from one another. Committed attendance is itself therapeutic, as accountability is also a key benefit. One of the biggest benefits of group counseling is that an individual realizes that he or she is not alone, which often brings about a huge sense of relief! Fees for group therapy are usually much less than for individual therapy. Most insurance companies cover group counseling, depending upon your plan. Please call your insurer for specifics. For more information about current groups and fees, please call us at 770-642-4239 Ext: 32 or Email: cuwilliams.lpc@gmail.com .
